May 29, 2026On Wednesday, 27th May 2025, President Dr. Patrick Herminie chaired a scheduled Cabinet meeting during which three key sets of regulations under the Early Childhood Development Act, 2022 were approved — the Early Childhood Development (National Standards for Child Care Centres) Regulations, the Early Childhood Development (National Standards for Child Care Homes) Regulations, and the Early Childhood Development (Conditions for Licences) Regulations.
The Institute of Early Childhood Development (IECD) extends its deepest appreciation to President Dr. Patrick Herminie and his Cabinet for this landmark decision. These approved regulations establish the foundation for a stronger, safer, and more regulated early childhood care sector in Seychelles — ensuring the wellbeing, protection, and quality care of our youngest citizens.
