Pre-Registration, Sensitisation and Training Programme (PRESET) on National Standards for Home-Based Child Care Services

April 2, 2026

The Institute of Early Childhood Development (IECD) is pleased to invite your media house to the official launch of its PRESET Programme.

This year marks a significant milestone as we celebrate the 15th edition of the PRESET Programme. Since 2015, IECD has remained committed to delivering this essential training, offering prospective childminders with the opportunity to take the first step toward registering of their services and providing high-quality care and education for young children and their families.

For the 2026 cohort, approximately 90 participants have registered and are expected to take part in the programme. The training will commence on 11 April and run until 20 June 2026. It will primarily focus on National Standards for Home-Based Child Care Services and includes a range of engaging, hands-on activities designed to promote practical and meaningful learning.

The programme is delivered in close collaboration with partners across the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) sector. PRESET launch will coincide with the inaugural session which will focus on one of the mandatory standards – Child Rights and Protection. This session will be facilitated by Mrs. Beryl Payet, the Principal Secretary of the Social Affairs Department.

Attending the short ceremony will be esteemed Ministers, partners of ECCE Sector, government officials, and the participants themselves.
