January 25, 2026The IECD Team, with the Chairman and a member of the Board present, held its first meeting of the year on Friday 23rd January, in a convivial atmosphere, at the National Library. Staff shared their plans and goals for 2026, aligned with the Government’s Performance Management System. In addition to a few maintenance projects that began last year, staff proposed several interesting small projects related to the Institute’s mandate and strategic priorities. These initiatives will help them acquire new knowledge and skills in planning, coordinating with external partners, managing and evaluating projects, working independently, and promoting collegiality – leading to professional growth.
Everyone, from housekeepers to senior management, including the CEO, had the opportunity to present their plans. This was followed by a Q&A session, which sparked lively discussions and exchanges. It provided a better understanding of the many projects and initiatives planned for 2026 and highlighted the importance of each staff member’s role and the support needed for successful implementation.
The Board shared feedback from the one-on-one staff meetings held last December. Overall, the results were overwhelmingly positive, with a few areas identified for improvement. Additionally, the 2026 activity calendar and a new research project within IECD were presented. The CEO also shared updates on initiatives to support ECCE, recruitment, operational matters, and a few staff reminders, in line with the Institute’s Framework of Standards, Rules and Procedures.
The meeting began with a spiritual reflection, as staff members held hands and sang ‘Bind Us Together,’ fostering unity and shared purpose. It concluded with heartfelt expressions of renewed commitment to teamwork, collaboration, and the collective goal of ensuring the success of IECD in 2026.
