A total of 31 childminders, child care managers, and their parents attended and actively participated in these sessions. The event aimed to raise awareness of key health issues affecting both children and women, while equipping caregivers with practical knowledge and skills to better support children, families, and communities.
Session Highlights:
- Understanding Child Health
Delivered by Dr. Javier Rose, Senior Medical Consultant, this session emphasized the vital roles of childminders and managers in supporting children’s physical, emotional, and cognitive development. Participants gained valuable insights into common childhood conditions, prevention strategies, and the importance of nurturing environments that enable children to thrive.
- What Women Should Know About Cancer
Dr. Johanna Rapanarilala, Medical Oncologist at Seychelles Hospital, addressed this fundamental question. She provided information on cancer prevention, early detection, and screening practices, with a focus on empowering women to take charge of their health. Dr. Rapanarilala also encouraged participants to share the knowledge gained with their families, friends, and communities.
The sessions were not only informative but also highly engaging. Participants asked questions, shared their experiences, and expressed appreciation for this valuable opportunity.
